Digital performances continue this March

We're thrilled to announce our upcoming digital performance of J.S. Bach’s St John Passion, available to watch for free from Palm Sunday, 28th March. As part of our series of free-to-view performances featuring leading musicians, Britten Sinfonia performs with Daniel Hyde, Director of Music at Kings College, Cambridge and a hand-picked choral consort featuring some of the UK’s finest baroque singers, including soprano Julia Doyle, altos Helen Charlston and Jessica Dandy and tenors Nicholas Pritchard and Gwilym Bowen. The concert will be introduced by singer and broadcaster Catherine Bott and is supported by Classic FM.

As with all of our digital performances, the concert will begin with a discussion, this time between Daniel Hyde and Catherine Bott, and will be available to watch for free on our website for one month. Audiences will also have the opportunity to make a donation, all of which will be shared equally between Help Musicians, Britten Sinfonia and Saffron Hall Trust.

Two performances in our digital series have already been released and are available to view online. The first, available until 1 April, featured a performance by internationally acclaimed violinist and Saffron Hall regular visitor Nicola Benedetti, the second concert will be available from Friday 19 March, with a digital performance from principal players of Aurora Orchestra with violinist Elena Urioste, presented by Radio 3’s Tom Service.
