Friday Afternoons
20 November 2015
From November 2015
Aldeburgh Music’s award-winning Friday Afternoons singing project visited Saffron Hall in November. A global celebration of singing for kids and teachers alike, the project commissions new songs each year, with performances all over the world taking part on the same day.
Saffron Hall was filled with 500 children from nearby schools singing this year’s songs, which were written by American composer Nico Muhly.
The event was presented by singer and conductor Dominic Peckham, and supported by musicians Russell Harrold (piano), Chris Hill (bass) and Andy Martin (percussion). Teachers with children taking part were well supported with a training session led by Dominic, along with online resources.
